Speaking: Job interview questions

Speaking: job interview questions
Intermediate to advanced level (B1-C1)

What will you be asked at a job interview. Of course it depends on the job but you can practise answering some common questions:

What do you know about our company/organisation?
(Make sure you do some Internet research)

What do you think the main challenges in the job will be?
(Think of at least two)

What motivates you?
(More than one thing would be good)

What do you think makes a good team?
(You can guess why they are asking this)

What do you think of our products, services etc?
(Be honest but diplomatic)

How would your friends describe you?
(You do have some friends, don’t you?)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
(How ambitious are you?)

What are your strengths and weaknesses?
(One each please)

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
(This is an example of an unusual question. Can you think on your feet?)

If you get the job, great but if you don’t you can usually ask your interviewers how you did. This feedback could be really useful. Also try practising with some friends because the more practice you have, the better you will perform at a job interview.

Good luck!
